Servicing in 2013

English: Caravan Site With the River Ouse and ...
So here we are at the back end of November and people are busy winterising their motorhomes and caravans. Time will pass very quickly and before you know what has happened it will be springtime.

Its and unfortunate fact of life (and there is no good reason to do so) that most caravaners and many motorhomers want their vehicle servicing in Spring.

So if you want to book your service for spring then now is the time to do so. Please don't leave it until Spring as you may well be disappointed

Buying a motorhome

I have been looking around for a motorhome over the last few weeks and I can understand how people get disheartened. How I wish for clear pricing, clear trade in prices and please drop the used car salesman attitudes.

Some dealers have been excellent, some just awful and others actually disinterested - how can that be the case in an industry that needs every sale that it can get.

Motorhome sales have been falling since there peak although the signs are that things are starting to recover slowly. For me the key to better sales is excellent customer service, a no nonsense approach, honesty and the desire to be the best. So go out and support the best but also tell the no-hopers why your not dealing with them.

So if you have a favourite dealer why not drop me an e-mail to let me know who and why they impressed you.....

Winter in Derbyshire

November has arrived and winter is on its way. It is time for caravaners and motorhomers to start taking precautions against frost.

You need to drain as much water out of your van as you can, turn off your water pump and open your taps in-between hot and cold.

Look after your battery. Its really bad for your battery if you let it go flat. If you don't know what to do then talk to your engineer about your options. These include solar panels, trickle chargers or simply removing the battery.

Look after your toilet - lubricate the seals and clean out the cassette.

If your unsure talk to your engineer about what to do.
